Within weeks ofsecuring its 10th site AW Repair Group has already begun work on site number 11.

The 11,000 sq ft location in Lincoln has commenced an extensive fit out programme and is due to open in February 2021.

The latest addition is part of the company’s strategic growth plans and the site is well placed to serve North Lincolnshire and parts of East Riding.

Founder and CEO Andrew Walsh said: “We have always been proud of our Lincolnshire roots and while the HQ has always been here in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, we are delighted to be opening a site in the county’s historic capital.

“Having recently announced our Sleaford HQ as our prestige AW TecKnowlogy™ Repair Centre with multiple prestige manufacturer approvals including Tesla, our Lincoln site will again be a state of the art facility, comprising energy saving initiatives, electric, hybrid and ADAS capabilities mirroring the wider group.

“We continue our drive to invest in energy efficient technology to benefit and improve both the customer journey and our carbon footprint. We are pioneering the new UV Extraction Priming System. This will significantly increase the paint throughput and maximise spraybooth usage reducing key to key. The unit sits over our Skate & Rail Vehicle Transfer System with the ability to prime vehicles without using a spraybooth and instead UVB lamps to cure the primer in as little as 60 seconds.”

The company is committed to carbon reduction and by utilising variable speed drives, fuel saver mode and QADS in spraybooths already achieves 65% less hydro carbon than standard booths. LED-Lighting, eco-friendly radiant heating, plastic and panel repairs, reusable seat and steering wheel covers plus purchasing alternative green parts through Synetiq and The Green Parts Specialists, all work in tandem towards AW’s overall goal of reducing its carbon footprint and achieving PAS2060.

Added AW’s Partnership & Communications Executive Jade Johnson: “We are also delighted to again be working with the team at Autoflow which is currently being installed across our group. We have many long serving team members who were part of Autoflow’s early development and are keen to work with the system’s new features to deliver an even more digitalized customer experience.”

James Dunn, Group Operations Director, is also optimistic for new apprentices to join the company. “Obviously 2020 has been a tricky time for our younger team members who have not been able to attend college but our inhouse Apprentice & Training Academy has been busy behind the scenes with a raft of technical and manufacturer training and we are hopeful 2021 will allow a new cohort of enthusiastic apprentices to join us across the enlarged AW Group. ”

The Lincoln site fit out comes only weeks after the announcement of AW Repair Group’s new Boston location, covering the East of the UK’s second largest county, which is due to open next month [December] after a full installation programme.
