Data released by CAPS (The Common Automotive Platform Standard) today reveals that unique accident repair claims initiated for the first time within their system have risen by 33% on the previous week to 92% of pre-Covid volumes.

The two regions that saw a significant growth in claims were the South East and South West with the main factors for the increase cited as an increasing number of bodyshops opening their operation and customers booking in driveable cases for repairs to commence.

Data released to Trend Tracker shows the number of bodyshops being open has steadily risen through the past few weeks, from a low of 510 bodyshops transmitting data week commencing 6 April to 829 bodyshops last week, as follows:
